Brief Description: Fabricated Transpoder Antenna mount
Dimpled for the bottom skins while I removed them from the mid-fuselage section so I could fabricate the transponder antenna mounting. I finally decided to put it to one side inside the tunnel just before the baggage bulkhead, so the mounting nuts could be reached (the antenna has studs so I can't use nutplates). I began by fabricating a doubler to fit between the tunnel ribs. I joggled each side so the doubler woiuld lay flush to the skin between the ribs but go over the rib flanges. I then drilled the doublerr to the ribs. Next I clecoed it to the skin and marked and drilled the rivet lines between the ribs. Finally, I used the antenna as a marking guide and drilled the holes for the cable and mounting studs. I finished up by dimpling all the rivet holes in the doubler.
