Last time, it took several guys and a lot of grunting to get the panel in place. This time, I have an engine leveller, so I used the engine hoist and soft straps to get the panel in. It only took a couple of minutes to get the panel into the cockpit but then it took over an hour of moving it a bit, adjusting the angle, moving it some more, and so on. It is a 3-D puzzle getting it into place but with patience it got done (and thankfully, the hoist does not tire of holding the panel up). Once in place, I secured it to the sub-ribs with screws and removed the hoist. The changes made were minor and the only modification I had to do was on the center rib for a little extra clearance for the new GRT Sport EFISs. The subpanel cutouts were still just fine. Image 3 is just a test location for the new EFISs battery backup; I wanted to be sure it will clear the VP-X box and the G900X racks. I'll fabricate mounting rails for it after confirming with Aerotronics that it will be Ok there.
