After posing the question on the VAF forums, Gil Alexander asked the pertinent question: Is your engine wide deck or narrow? Van's designed the kit for wide deck cylinders, so naturally, mine are narrow deck. With that hint in hand, it turned out to not require very much modification to get the baffle to fit. The brace (see the two holes in Image 3 where it was originally supposed to attach) will have to be modified but otherwise it went well. I understand the front baffling is also different but I will have to construct that bridge when I get to it. I have also decided not to cut the wire access in the rear baffle; the 'right' LSE coils will drive the bottom plugs while the 'left' coils will be mounted on top and drive the upper plugs. Hence, no need for the right opening.
While I was at it, I installed the new studs for the magneto opening covers. One pair of toe clamps is back-ordered but no reason not to be ready when they arrive.
