Brief Description: Door pin guide installation - copilot door
So I'm doing today's entry in two sections; this is the first even if Kitlog decides otherwise.
I had spent time trying to figure out how to locate the guides in the door frame. Finally, with no better idea, I trimmed the angled ends off the door pins, tapped, and inserted the setscrews from the Plane Around pin kit. A dab of paint and I closed the door and use the latch mechanism to press the setscrews onto the frame, marking them. I drilled the holes at the marks and then assembled the pins to test the fit, adjusting slightly in both cases. Then I used the machined pin to position the guide, pushing it in the direction of my adjustment before clamping and then drilling. Another test fit showed the position to be perfect. I did have to trim the outboard edge of the guide to allow the door to come in fully flush.
