Brief Description:  Empennage attach, elev. trim adjust

After a brief detour installing the COMM antennae, I realized that I needed to install the empennage in order to route the VOR antenna and trim wiring. So I replaced the horizontal stabilizer (with the elevators still in place) onto the tail cone and bolted it in place. Then I routed the conduit in the vertical stabilizer into the fuselage and bolted the VS in place. After this it seemed like a good idea to get some components in position so I knew where to route things, so I installed the ELT and strobe power supply to their respective mounts. Then I routed the elevator trim cables through the HS and elevators and installed the trim servo mount in place. Using a Radio Shack power supply, I ran the trim to the full up position as shown in the instructions. I match-drilled the billet trim brackets from IFlyRV10 to the cover plates and then installed them on the trim cables and clecoed them to the cover plates and the cover plates to the elevators. Then I used the clevis hardware and attached the cables to the trim tabs so they were at 35 degrees down. Next, I ran the servo until the right tab was at neutral and verified that the left tab was also at neutral. Then I ran the servo full down and verified that the left tab stayed at neutral while the right tab rand 25 degrees up. Hey, it was fun, so I ran the trims both ways a couple more times looking for problems before I called it a day.
