Brief Description:  Trial fitting the gear towers

Today was the Planes of Fame Airshow and my buddy Jack Keegan and i were headed to Valle, AZ to help flip burgers. But I was up early, so I spent an hour getting ready for the drilling of the gear towers. First I clecoed in the forward floors and marked them per the instructions. I also marked the pad on the gear towers. Then I trial fitted the towers in place. They didn't quite line up with the spar, even though they had been previously match drilled. First I found a couple of clecoes interfering (and does that mean more double-flush rivets? Have to investigate). Then I discovered that the cutout on the bottom skin was not quite enough, so I used a dremel tool with a grinding bit to carefully englarge the hole in the outboard direction. By the time Jack showed up, I had both towers going in pretty easily and the left tower just about where I wanted it.
