Brief Description:  Riveting of left outboard LE, start fuel tank

I finished drilling out the tie-down hole and then removed the leading edge and dimpled the aft line of rivets top and bottom. I then replaced the leading edge on the spar and riveted the ribs to the spar. I opted to use the optional LP-4 rivets on the two outboard ribs. I then riveted the aft line of rivets on the bottom side; I will do the top when I finish riveting the top skins.

Next I turned to the left fuel tank. I fluted and straightened all the ribs. Then I cut all the stiffeners apart and spent some time cleaning up the edges of the stiffeners and a clip. All blue plastic was removed as I worked.

Today a number of Slugs who had gone to Seligman dropped in to view the project and I demonstrated riveting for Barney, our airport manager. Later, others also dropped in. Why didn't I go with the Slugs instead of building? Well, other than enjoying the building, today is my 18th anniversary with Judith. We didn't have anything special planned, having just spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Grand Canyon, but I had hiked myself into the ground and couldn't face climbing up on a wing to get into my aircraft.

Rivet count: 132 Total: 7425 - Plus 549 done at Van's
