Deburred and countersunk right tailcone longeron. Primed both longerons and clecoed to structure when dry. Assembled the bellcrank rib assemblies and riveted them together without the nutplates for the moment for ease of fitting the battery mount. Clecoed them into place in the tail cone and added the battery mount (pinned in place with bolts and screws, Put the pitch servo mount in place in the same manner and checked the location of the servo.
Assembled the oxygen system mounts on a flat table to determine the 'footprint of the mounts. Armed with this information, I rough-cut a mounting plate and two angle pieces so that the bottle can be mounted across the j-sections (1 stiffener and 1 formed in the tailcone bottom skin) on one side or the other of the battery mount. I'd prefer to mount it on the right side to ease access to the heavy battery and master solenoid but am soliciting opinions on the VAF forums and with local A&Ps about the clearance (2" lateral in the last photo) with the pitch servo. If enough negative opinion, I will mount it on the left side and put the master on the right along with the servo. Bottle mounts not finalized and side skins cannot be riveted until that is decided.
