Brief Description: Tailcone prep / register assembly and riveting
Finished prepping the left skin and stringer for riveting by deburring the edges and dimpling. Marked the depth of the metal registers into the fiberglass shrouds for the air conditioning condenser intake and outlet and then removed them and marked the rivet locations on them. Replaced them after drilling #40 pilot holes and drilled them to the registers with a #30 bit. Removed them again and primed them to make them opaque and seal pinholes. Mixed up a 2 oz. batch of proseal and applied to the joining areas and then replaced the shrouds and attached them permanently with LP-4 pop rivets. With the registers in place, it is now possible to install the side skins (though riveting may have to wait until I finalize the O2 bottle location), so I installed the stringers and longeron and clecoed the skin in place. NB: the longeron will have to come back out to be primed before riveting the skin.
