Using obtained overlength shoulder washers, installed them in the sender plate. A ring terminal was attached to a length of wire for each sender to act as a return. This terminal was placed under one of the shoulder washers to make electrical contact with the sender plate. The washers were then trimmed to length using an X-acto knife and a screw inside the washer body.
