Replaced Lightspeed tach sender lead with Westach sender on tach drive. Ops tested, tach works now. Added heat shielding to lower cowl in area near exhaust pipes and put the cowling on. Ran the engine and did low-speed taxi in area near hangar; brakes work fine, taxiing felt firm and controllable. Engine ran well, no problems noted.
After returning the plane to the hangar, I trimmed the canopy side skirts and glued them into place using SikaFlex. They are held with clamps and clecoes until the Sika sets and I will then rivet the side skirts in place. I also cleaned up the seal area on the rollover bow with a smoothed coat of black RTV.
