Brief Description: Spinner gap seal, cowling support, FAB constructio
Fitted the spinner gap seals behind the prop; used clamped 2x4 to rotate the blades and measure the clearance. Riveted gap seals to the spinner backplate and fitted the nutplate and screw to hold the spinner to the seal.
Fabricated the lower cowling support according to the plans and with the supplied parts. Found that the forward attachment did not mate with the engine mount, so fabricated spacers and used longer bolts to position the support correctly.
Began construction of the filtered air box. Used the Airflow Performance top plate and pinch ring to mount to the throttle boday and roughly positioned the FAB top and drilled it to the top plate. FAB can be rotated to final position and secured with the pinch ring. Secured pinch ring to the top plate with lock washers per the Performance Airflow installation instructions, as opposed to the saftied bolts in the Vans FAB kit. Fabricated filter retainers and installed along with the nutplates on the FAB top.
