Brief Description: Started Fuel Tank Attach Mod (SB 13-12-19)
Been putting this SB off as long as possible because I did not want to open up the tank and deal with the sealant (old and new). Here we go!
I have the latest version of Section 37 that was provided as part of the avionics/power plant kit delivery. Fuel tank has not been installed yet so step not applicable. (steps 1 and 2)
Removed the res sender plate. Removed old sealant with a phenolic scraper and MEK. (step 3) After seeing the access, or lack thereof, to the corners where the doublers will be installed, decided to follow the route of other builders and remove the top tank skin.
Separated and deburred doublers. (step 4)
Removed nutplates and rivets specified in figures 2 and 3. (step 5)
Disconnected fuel return line. Actually removed fuel return line as part of removing the fuel tank top cover. (step 6).
