The wiring in the finishing kit is back ordered so figured I would get started on the fuel tank.
Finishing kit shipped on 11-23-11 so I need to incorporate Sevice Bulletin 11-12-14 (RV-12 Fuel Tank Frangible Attach Bolts). Could be worse by requiring tank to be opened again. Could have been better if kit shipped 2 weeks later (all parts included in kits shipped after 12-5-11). Printed out complete Section 37 with Revision 2 and replaced what was originally shipped with the finishing kit.
Machine countersunk nutplate rivet attach holes in T-407 ring and removed center supports. Adjusted jogged end of T-1202 forward tank bulkhead and dimpled nutplate rivet attach holes. Machine countersunkT-1205 forward tank bracket. Deburred all parts. (page 37-02, steps 1 through 4, and 6 though 7).
Assembled and clecoed T-1201 main tank skin, T-1202 forward tank bulkhead, and T-1205 forward tank bracket. Clecoed tank clips from SB 11-12-14 kit to tank bracket. Match drilled main tank skin using holes in clips as a guide. Disassembled all parts and deburred. (reference SB 11-12-14, steps 5 and 6. All other steps in SB are either not applicable or not at that point in the tank build so will rely on Section 37 instructions going forward.)
Adjusted jogged end of T-1203 aft tank bulkhead (page 37-03, step 3).
