Brief Description: Miscellaneous Dimpling and Countersinking
Finally got an answer from Van's on the misalignment of the F-1204D center section aft bulkhead to F-1204 center section. Not as a definitive answer as I was hoping for so it ultimately comes down to what I'm comfortable doing. Either press on as is or replace the center section ($460). Leaning heavily towards replacing the center section and not even screwing with the potential hassles. I'll decide over the next few days.
Hamp came over this morning to take a look at progress on the kit. Of course, no one comes over just to look; put him to work dimpling the baggage floors. After Hamp left, pressed on with dimpling and countersinking miscellaneous parts. Finished the following: - Dimpled F-1224-L & -R baggage floors (page 21-02, step 1) - Dimpled F-1221-L & -R baggage ribs (page 21-02, step 3) - Deburred and dimpled F-1206A baggage bulkhead (page 21-02, steps 9 and 10) - Dimpled F-1206G-L & -R baggage ribs (page 21-02, step 12) - Dimpled F-1206H-L & -R baggage ribs (page 21-03, step 3) - Countersunk F-1219A flaperon mixer arm (page 21-04, step 3; did not install nutplates) - Final drilled F-1017C-L & -R seat belt attach lugs and F-1216 -L & -R lug supports to F-1215-L & -r seat ribs (page 21-04, steps 8 and 9; did not rivet parts yet) - Dimpled F-1215-L & -R seat ribs (page 21-05, steps 1, 2, 4, and 5) - Countersunk F-1252 flaperon stops (page 21-05, step 8) - Deburred, dimpled, and countersunk F-1276A and B crotch strap brackets
