Following procedure in the RV-12 Maintenance Manual, measured/calculated the arms and weighed the airplane. A couple of specifics:
- Used three ACE200 Smart Weigh scales - Leveled canopy deck (laterally and longitudinally) by adjusting tire pressures. - Full interior, POH, fuel tester, pitot cover, and tow bar in airplane during weighing. - Canopy closed during weighing. - Weighed three times by rotating scales to different wheels after each weighing. All three weights for each wheel were within a couple pounds of each other so averaged the three weights for each wheel and used that for weights. - LH wheel = 297 pounds; RH wheel = 305 pounds; nose wheel = 147 pounds. Total weight = 749 pounds. - Calculated empty center of gravity and came out to 81.19 inches. - Calculated most forward and most aft loading to verify airplanes stays within center of gravity range - which it did. - Weight & balance data forwarded to DAR.
