Brief Description:  PAP - G6 - Engine Run

All of the steps in this section passed with some specific notes as follows:

Engine cranked and started on the first revolution of the prop. Oil pressure immediately came up (around 70 psi for initial start then settle into mid 50's for the rest of the runs after warm) but had nothing on the RPM indication. All other indications where normal. Decided to continue running with throttle pulled back until oil temperature reached 122 deg F, then shutdown. No obvious leaks.
Troubleshot RPM indication issue and found pushed back pin in the Firewall Forward connector, pin 18. Connected vacuum gages and restarted engine.
Performed dynamic carb balance - used CarbMate and able to get light zeroed out at 4000 RPM. Very close at idle as well. Although not called out, ran engine up to check static takeoff thrust - expected somewhere around 4950 RPM but stopped at 5300 RPM (brakes held well) with throttle travel still remaining. Obviously, the prop pitch angle is too fine and will have to increase prop pitch angle. Idle RPM was also high and adjusted some but will have to be re-checked after getting the prop pitch dialed in.
Had about 6 starts and stops to get through everything.

After final shut down, pulled lower cowl and checked for leaks. Noticed a drop of oil under the oil hose at the oil pump. Tightened the B-nut and will check at next engine run. Also saw a few drops of coolant on the floor under the radiator. Tightened upper and lower hose clamps and will recheck at next engine run.

Checked hydraulic valve tappets per SI-912-018R1 and all checked good except for cylinder No.2 intake valve. Able to slide a 0.002 inch feeler gauge between the rocker and valve stem with a slight drag. Need to perform another oil purge, run engine to 3500 RPM, then re-check valve tappet.

Still need to drain fuel and check gascolator and carb bowls for debris but will wait to do that after the corrective engine run later next week.
