Brief Description:  PAP - G1 - System Checks

All of the steps in this section passed with some specific notes as follows:

When turning on MASTER switch, the electric fuel pump and avionics cooling fans came on for about 1 second then the fuse blew. After extensive troubeshooting, determined that the noise filter at the electric fuel pump was bad. Received a new filter from Van's, installed, and turned on MASTER again. Fuel pump now runs and cooling fans operate with airflow in the correct direction as specified in the PAP.

No issues loading Skyview and configuring systems.

Actuated NOSE UP side of trim switch and tab was trailing edge up (should be down). Reversed wires between pins 31 and 32 on fuselage connector at control module. Rechecked and trim tab moves in the correct direction. Run time for trim motor full travel was 15 seconds which is much faster than 25-30 seconds spec times. There is a note that says trim speed will be faster with auto trim provided through SV-AP panel but there is no indication of how much faster. Will touch base with Van's and see if 15 seconds will make trim too twitchy and needs to be slowed a bit.

Verified communication transmit function by pressing PTT on each stick and seeing "TX" on radio screen.

Verified landing gear attach nuts properly torqued during installation. Torque stripe still in same location. Will check torque at the end of Section G11 as specified in the PAP.

Brake system filled with MIL-PRF-5606H hydraulic fluid.
