Surprised that there is nothing in the KAI on installing the K&N air filters. For documentation purposes, adding them here. Bought K&N recharge kit and used the aerosol oil to lightly spray the outside of the filters. Not sure if they were pre-oiled out of the box or not. Let them sit for about an hour, then wipe them off and installed. The right side was very tight to install under the oil hoses but was able to work them into place. There is nothing in the maintenance manual about safety wiring the filters but there is placarding on the filter as well as documentation in the filter box to safety wire. Ran safety wire from the hole in the filter to the hole in each carburetor cable bracket.
