As noted in the Section 50 entry dated 10/4/16, the firewall grommet was twisted and un-seated when the throttle and choke cables were inserted through them. Denise tried to get the grommet re-seated and tried for quite some time with no luck. So, the decision was made to remove the throttle and choke cables to address the grommet - the heater cable and rectifier regulator cable remained in place. After cables were removed, Denise was able to get the grommet back in its correct position. I expected the grommet to be pretty beat up from being massaged quite a bit, but it was still in good shape. A piece of index card was used as a sleeve between the edge of the grommet and the cables as the cables were pushed through from the cockpit into the engine area. The rest of the throttle and choke cable installations where in accordance with the applicable pages in this section.
Sealed the two firewall grommets with fuel tank sealant. (step 7) PAGE 50-07 IS COMPLETE
