Brief Description: Install Oil Tank & Heater Cable
Still waiting for new parts from Van's to replace screwed up parts on page 49-03 so jumping around a bit to stay productive.
Page 49-06 Installed oil tank (step 1) Cut oil vent interconnect, oil tank vent tube (already supplied at 28"), and overflow bottle hose. (steps 2 through 4) Installed oil vent interconnect and oil tank vent tube to oil tank. Secured tube to hole drilled in battery mount angle with tie wraps. (steps 5 and 6) Installed clamp at right mount bolt of gascolator. Access was very tight and took longer than I would have expected. (step 7) Carefully heated oil vent tube with heat gun and manually bent tube to clear the firewall bottom flange. Held tube while it cooled so bend had a permanent set. Tie wrapped oil tank vent tube to the fuel drain hose. (step 8) Added red RTV to back of overflow bottle and secured bottle with strap and hardware. Slipped overflow bottle hose over bottle stem after first applying Boelube to allow hose to more easily be installed. (steps 9 through 11) PAGE 49-06 IS COMPLETE
Page 49-08 Installed heater cable in center instrument panel and secured with lockwasher and nut. Secured back of cable to panel base with cushioned clamp. (steps 1 and 2) PAGE 49-08 IS COMPLETE
