Brief Description:  Installed Propeller Spinner

Page 47-05
Match drilled holes through spinner into spinner bulkhead and spinner into spinner plate. Trimmed fiberglass on aft end of spinner flush with spinner plate. (steps 1 through 3)
Fabricated and trimmed gap fillers from cutout pieces from the spinner. I would do this differently if given the chance - should have been on the trim line instead of being overly conservative and cutting inside. Left a gap larger than I would have liked. To make things worse, looked at 5 RV-12's at a fly-in and all gap fillers looked well done. (step4)
Marked spinner, spinner plate and spinner bulkhead, then removed spinner, spinner bulkhead, forward hub half, and propeller blades. Reinstalled spinner. (step 5)
Clamped gap fillers to spinner plate, then match-drilled. (step 6)
PAGE 47-05 IS COMPLETE

Page 47-06
Fabricated back plates, clamped to gap fillers and match-drilled. Trimmed back plate in areas that extended beyond the end of the gap fillers. (steps 1 and 2)
Clecoed gap fillers and back plates to spinner plate and drilled #19 hole through spinner and back plates. Final drilled all holes in spinner, spinner plate, spinner bulkhead, and gap filler/back plates to #19. (step 4)
Removed all components from engine flange. (step 5 - partial)
