Brief Description:  Began Engine Teardown

Borrowed an engine hoist but ultimately did not use it to move the engine from the crate to the work table. Neighbor Quinn helped unbolt the engine from the crate and lift it to the work table.

Took over 40 pictures of engine before starting disassembly. (step 1)
Re-clocked water inlet water elbow from 10 o'clock position to 4 o'clock position shown in the KAI. Torqued bolts to 90 inch-pounds per the IPC. (step 2)
Marked ignition electrical connectors, removed from brackets, and disconnected . (steps 3 through 6)
Disconnected spark plug leads and pulled lower wires up as far as possible. (step 7)
Removed two cushioned clamps and spacer from inboard crank trigger coil. (step 8)

Reattached large clamp and harness with called out hardware. (step 1)
Checked all trigger coil clearances and all were between .012 and .014 inch. Removed lower spark plugs and turned crank in clockwise direction to align targets to check clearances. Loosely re-installed lower spark plugs. (steps 2 through 4)
Removed bolt and nut securing ignition module to brackets. (step 5)
Removed bolts from intake manifold and folded everything back over the gearbox. Noticed that washer was missing from intake manifold shorter bolt for No. 1 cylinder. Removed tape from port and found the washer in the intake. Yikes! Removed and gave a big sigh of relief. (step 6)

Removed screws from upper coolant sockets and removed hoses/expansion tank. (steps 1 and 2)
Marked position of forward ignition bracket, loosened screw, and rotated bracket 180 degrees. (step 3)
