Brief Description: Begin Rear Window & Turtle Deck Install
Deburred turtle deck skins. The blue plastic covering has been on the skins for about 4+ years and when removed, looked like some light film-type corrosion. After scuffing inside surfaces with Scotch Brite pad, cleaned both sides of each skin with Alumiprep and rinsed with water. Still minor discoloration on the outside surfaces. After skins were dry, primed the inside surface with Stewart Systems Ekoprime. Clecoed turtle deck skins to fuselage and tailcone. (step 1)
Match drilled holes at top forward of window into roll bar. Clecoed as each hole was drilled. (step 3)
Began riveting the right side turtle deck skin to fuselage and tailcone. Ran out of time, plus do not have enough rivets to complete so calling it quits for the night. More LP4-3 rivets on order from Van's (step 4 - partial)
Headed to the lake and will start back up early next week.
