Since the map box and right instrument panel is removed so the panel can be swapped out with the skyview compatible panel, decided to install the rectifier regulator while having easier access. I got a bit lazy and did not use the template called out on page 46-23. I eyeballed using landmarks from the top of the panel base. After installation, looks like I might be about 1/2" outboard of where is should be. Hope still does not pose a harness or cooling issue later. Removed connector housing from the regulator. Drilled #12 mount holes and secured regulator using called out hardware. (steps 1 and 2).
