Brief Description: Bought Fiberglass & Replaced RH Support Frame
Went to Aircraft Spruce East on Saturday morning before it got too hot (record 106 degrees) and bought fiberglass supplies in preparation to build up canopy fairing. Specifically bought: 7781-50 e-Glass Fiberglass Cloth 09-15100 Dacron Tape (Peel Ply) 01-14600 Glass Bubbles 01-09415 Meguiar's Mold Release #8 01-00302 Rotary Cutter
Also, received new F-1254-R support frame from Van's. Decided to replace after noticing interference between turtle deck skin and canopy skirt (reference entry on 6/24/12, Category 34) that was damaged while shaping the canopy frame. Trimmed edges, deburred, scuffed with Scotch Brite pad, cleaned with Acetone, and primed. Applied coat of clear gloss Krylon. Realized that I forgot to dimple holes in support frame before priming so will need to do that after part is dry.
