Brief Description:  Re-welded and Primed Canopy Frame

As expected, the answer from Gus at Van's was to re-weld the canopy frame. The response was as follows:
"The easiest thing would be to reweld it. We could do it here, but it would cost you a lot to ship it to and fro. I would see if there is a local place that could do it. Any place that can do aluminum welding would be OK. It is TIG welded, and the material is 6061-T6, which they would need to know."

I used a friends machine shop to have the canopy frame re-welded and verified that 6061-T6 material was used. Frame now feels real solid.

Scuffed inboard side of canopy skirts and guide plates with Scotch Brite pad, cleaned with Acetone, and primed. Did the same thing for the canopy frame.

Riveted latch handle stop to aft bow of canopy frame. (page 34-02, step 3)
Page 34-02 is complete.

Riveted canopy guide plates to inboard sides of canopy frame. (page 34-08, step 3)
Page 34-08 is complete.
