While scuffing canopy frame with Scotch-Brite pad in preparation for priming, noticed that the aft bow felt loose. Noticed that the weld at the connection point of the aft bow to the left side of the square canopy side frame was cracked. I suspect that it was self-induced by filing the weld back so the canopy would lay flat on the aft bow. Have a question out to Van's on what needs to be done to correct the problem before pressing on with building the canopy. I suspect that I'll need to find someone would can TIG weld aluminum.
