Brief Description:  Trimmed Canopy & Drilled Front Bow

Events described in this log actually occured over about 6 days. A little intimidated by the canopy so took it slow, think about it, do a little more, etc.

Applied tape on front bow and installed canopy on frame. The hole for the latch tube was already in the canopy so didn't have to drill. Did enlarge slightly to better position the canopy. Trimmed the forward edge of canopy and aft edge of canopy and satisfied with the results. Also, initially trimmed side edges so canopy would press against the attach angles. Pushed down on forward edge of canopy but didn;t have a lot of luck figuring out where the darker color of the tape indicating the contact point. Ended up applying tape to the underside of the canopy, applied grease, and pressed against the front bow. The grease squeezed out on each side of the contact point clearly showing the contact point. (page 34-05, steps 1 through 3).
Page 34-05 is complete.

Removed canopy and marked the front bow every 2 inches. Drilled #40 holes across the front bow. Also, laid canopy skirt against the side of the canopy frame and noticed that the weld bump at the angle change in the canopy got in the way. Filed bump flush with the square tube of the canopy frame - LH and RH sides. (page 34-06, step 1).
