Brief Description: Continued Working on Tailcone Fairings
After letting flox setup for a long time, the results were not what I was expecting. Did a bunch on hand sanding and fitting the upper and lower tailcone fairings multiple times until fit was pretty decent. The gaps that were previously present are still there but not as pronounced. Going to press on as is. (page 12-06, redo of steps 6 and 7).
Previously match drilled 6 of the 8 tabs to the lower tailcone fairing. Now that the fit is better, match drilled the remaining two tabs. Clamped upper and lower tailcone fairings to tailcone and match drilled the center hole at upper end of each tab. Final drilled center hole with a modified #27 drill bit. Machine countersunk nutplate rivet holes in tabs and riveted nutplate to tabs. (page 12-07, steps 1 through 8). Page 12-07 is complete.
