Primed servo pushrod tubes. Assembled roll servo and pitch servo pushrod assembies. (page 44A-02, steps 2 and 3; steps 4 and 5 are NA). Page 44A-02 is complete.
Cut wires, crimped Molex sockets on wires, and inserted into Molex plug for each autopilot servo. Connected roll servo pushrod assembly to roll servo. Installed roll servo to F-1286B-L & -R servo brackets and secured with bolts/washers with Loctite 242. Connected Molex plug and socket and secured to roll servo with tie wraps. Installed black ground wire under one of the mount bolts. Did not connect autopilot pushrod to LH flaperon pushrod bolt yet - still need to match drill in Section 32. (page 44A-03, steps 1 through 7)
Inserted bolt through pitch servo arm and attempted to put pitch servo into installed position. Not sure why, but I couldn't get the servo arm through the seat rib and doubler. Had to swallow my pride and ask for help from Denise. She looked at it and within 30 seconds had it figured out. Secured pitch servo with 3 bolts/washers and exisiting screw using Loctite 242. Installed servo pushrod to control column and servo arm. Connected noise filter, connected Molex plug and socket together, and installed ground screw. Ground screw secures noise filter ground wire and servo black ground wire. Tie wrapped noise filter and Molex connectors to servo body. Controls moved through full range of motion with no obvious binding or catching. Now that the control system has a bit of drag due to the servos, the minor sticking at full left and right throw of the stick is not noticeable. (page 44A-04, steps 1 through 7).
