Brief Description:  Started the Canopy Frame

Still jumping around waiting for the wiring subkit to arrive so I can work on Section 31. It could be a couple of months yet.

Final drilled #12 in both ends of C-1216 gas struts. Machine countersunk gas strut holes in frame and left the screw head with a slight protrusion to keep from going too deep (used a #19 pilot 100 degree bit). Match drilled holes in canopy frame and riveted. Filed weld in center of front bow. Attached gas struts to canopy frame and trimmed ends of screws so only a couple of threads were showing. Positioned and match drilled latch handle stop to canopy frame. Will hold off on riveting until parts are primed. Measured, marked, and drilled C-1203A forward attach angles and C-1203B aft attach angles. (page 34-02, steps 1, 2, part of 3, and 4).

Attached canopy frame to fuselage. (page 34-03, part of step 1 - did not attach gas strut). Did a quick check to see what the gaps were between the front bow and instrument panel. Made a 7/16" wide piece of wood to use as a measuring gauge. Both sides near the lower end of the bow are tight; halfway up the front bow had gaps of about 1/2"; the gap at the top near the weld was about 9/16". Will need to adjust the front bow.
