Brief Description:  Prepped for Install of Moeller Mechanical Fuel Gag

Ordered 12" Moeller Mechanical Fuel Sending Unit (PN 035754-10) from Amazon. Impressed with simplicity and quality of the gage. Also ordered another T-1209 res sender plate from Van's.
The hole pattern in the Moeller gage lines up perfectly with the smaller hole and screw holes in the T-1209 res sender plate used to mount the EI F-385B fuel sending unit. Screw holes are not equally spaced so there's only one rotational position where the gage and res sender plate holes align. The gage is to be installed so that the bottom of the gage points to the forward end of the tank. The res sender plate was trimmed to final size to make the doubler that will be mounted inside the tank. A small notch was included to indicate the front of the doubler to ensure rotation is correct. Machine countersunk nutplate rivet holes in the doubler.
The hole in the top of the tank is centered at 5 3/4" from the front edge and 6 1/2" from the inboard edge. This allows the float arm to pivot up and inboard (empty to full) and to stay clear of the EI F-385B fuel sending unit float arm as well as the return line. Used the fabricated doubler as a guide to mark the center hole and cut it out. Also used the doubler as a guide to match drill the nutplate holes. Dimpled the nutplate rivet holes.
Trial fit the gage to ensure everything lines up correctly and the float arm does not interfere with the EI F-385B float arm.
