Brief Description:  Installed Tank Bracket, Baffles, & Aft Bulkhead

Denise was a great help again today as we continue building the fuel tank. Scuffed mating surfaces areas and outer surfaces with Scotch Brite pad and cleaned with MEK. Installed and riveted T-1205 forward tank bracket to forward bulkhead assembly (page 37-02, step 10). Outlined bracket with Proseal and dipped rivets in Proseal propr to installation. Again had a problem with a couple of rivets where the mandrel broke off about half way up. A couple more to cut off when sealant is cured.

Applied sealant to surfaces of baffles and riveted into place. Used NAS1147FN432P washers under shop head of inboard upper rivet of T-1208 baffle and forward upper rivet of T-1207 forward baffle. Verified that the 4 critical fuel passages are open and clear of sealant. Forgot to fill the tool holes in the baffles so still need to do that. Riveted T-1203 aft tank bulkhead to T-1201 main tank skin. Finally, riveted attach angle to T-1203 aft tank bulkhead. (page 37-03, steps 1, 2, 4, and 6).

Noticed that the AN470AD4-4 rivets that were installed in the T-1203 aft tank bulkhead and T-1214 attach angle where installed the wrong way according to Page 37-03, Figure 2). Figure 2 says to install the rivets with the manufactured head on T-1203 aft tank bulkhead. Installed them with the manufactured head on the T-1214 attach angle. Need to get an email off to Van's to see if this is OK. I suspect that it is but need to check and make sure.
