Brief Description:  Started Installing Fuel System

Decided to bypass installing side skins for now and install the fuel system and brakes. The rationale, good or bad, is to have easier access to tunnel area of the fuselage.

Deburred fuel valve bracket handle, fuel valve bracket, and fuel valve clip, then cleaned with Acetone, and primed.

Installed fluid fittings in fuel pump. Used Loctite 567 on fitting threads. Installed pump on facet pump bracket and loosely installed bolts. Will torque bolts after lines are installed.
Assembled fuel valve knob, handle, bracket, clip, elbow fittings, and riveted to lower skin. Used Loctite 567 on fitting threads. (page 28-02, steps 1 through 8).
After inspecting, realized that the upper elbow fitting on the fuel valve is 180 degrees out. Loctite has already dried and worried about damaging during diasassembly more than fixing anything. Plus, I didn't like the way the bottom elbow fitting was installed - tightened too much and not sure rotated enough to line up with fuel line from pump. New parts on order and will start over.

Installed union fittings in FT-60 fuel flow meter and then installed meter on bracket and loosely secured with bolts and washers. Will torque bolts after after lines are installed. Also, installed plugs, elbow fitting, and drain in gascolator, secured assembly to firewall with bolts, then installed union fitting through firewall into gascolator. Used Loctite 567 on threads of all fittings. (page 28-05, steps 1 through 3).
