Brief Description:  Partial Assembly (Part 1 of 2)

The slight misalignment on the F-1204D aft center section bulkhead is really bugging me. I did a little assembly work today (clecoes, no rivets) just to see how everything lined up. No real problems getting everything to line up. Assembly consisted of:
F-1204 center section
F-1204D center section aft bulkhead
F-1204F-L & -R aft bulkhead sides
F-1224-L & -R baggage floors
F-1221-L & -R, F-1222-L & -R, and F-1223-L & -R baggage ribs
F-1206A baggage bulkhead
F-1276 bottom skin
F-1206B-L & -R rear spar receptacles supports (separated parts, page 21-02, step 6)
F-1206C-L & -R rear spar receptacles
F-1270-L & -R fuselage side skins
Photo 1 shows the partial assembly of the fuselage. Photo 2 shows the left side with no vertical gap between aft bulkhead and center section. Photo 3 shows the right side with the 1/8-inch vertical gap between aft bulkhead and center section.
Now that it appears that everything lines up, the only question left in my mind is whether or not the right wing rear spar stub will fit in the receptacle or will the 1/8-inch drop on the right side of the F-1204D bulkhead cause a fit problem. I did a trial fit of the F-1206C receptacle on the right wing rear spar stub and it fits very tight with very little wiggle room. What I’m thinking is that everything (baggage floor, ribs, and bulkhead) lines up to the 1/8-inch gap, but when the wing gets installed, the main spar lines up correctly with the center section but the rear spar stub will be approximately 1/8-inch too high in the receptacle. I don’t know if there’s enough flex in the wing to allow the stub to seat in the receptacle, and if it does, will that be a problem. I’m probably over thinking this whole thing; just trying to avoid a bunch of rework down the road.
Additional information sent to Van's. Joe is working the problem for me and hopefully will get an answer this week.
