Removed left wing light extension after drilling holes in upper flange. Sanded excess epoxy (page 40-07, steps 7 and 8). Page 40-07 is complete for left wing.
Installed lighting bracket on left wing extension, built and installed ground wire, and installed male Molex connector for left wing Nav/strobe light. (page 40-08, steps 1 through 9). Page 40-08 is complete for left wing.
Installed electrical tape on close-out and extension to form seal. Fuel tank sealant on order and didn't arrive in time for the weekend so will have to wait until early next week. Installed Molex pins and connector on both Nac/strobe lights. (page 40-09, steps 1 through 3, and steps 8 through 13). Connected each Nav/strobe light to left wing wiring and applied 12V to wing terminals at inboard end and verified that Nav lights and strob lights work properly.
Proper lock washers and flat washers arrived yesterday from AeroLEDS (see entry on 5/20/11) so removed landing light lens and installed proper washers securing landing light to landing light ribs. Discussed Molex connectors with a friend who used them in building experimental helicopter and he recommended tying Molex connectors together with a tiewrap. Did that for the landing light connector.
