Brief Description:  Installed Stabilator and Trim Servo Assembly

Installed stabilator and verified that hinge stops hit hinge brackets at each travel extreme (page 11-03, steps 3 and 4). Did not install counterbalance arm (page 11-03, steps 1 and 2). Page 11-03 is considered complete.

Fabricated AST hinge pins and installed AST's. Fit was tight as mentioned in email from Van's. Attached left and right AST assemblies together using called out hardware. (page 11-04, steps 1 through 3). Did not have safety wire so unable to safety wire hinge pins (page 11-04, step 4). Still need to do this step.

Installed trim servo assembly and attached rod end bearing to AST control horns (page 11-07, steps 8 through 10).
Page 11-07 is complete.

Ran trim servo in both directions. When servo clevis fully extended, measured clearance between hinge halves at bottom of AST as specified in figure 1. Adjusted rod end bearing at AST control horns until measurement was 0.063-inch (1/16-inch). Ran trim servo clevis fully retracted and verified there was plenty of room between pushrod and bottom of rudder (page 11-08, steps 1 and 2). Since the plan is to disassembly major components for storage, did not route and connect trim servo wires.
Page 11-08 is considered complete.

Trial fit foward skin to V-stab then removed (page 11-09, step 1)
Page 11-09 is complete.

Empennage kit is complete except for safety wiring AST hinge pins and popping rivets into tip fairings.
