Brief Description: Riveted Right Side Skin to Frames and Upper Skin
Riveted right side skin to fuselage frames (F-1208, F1209, and F1210) and right upper skin (page 10-09, step 9). Noticed oil canning on side skins at forward frame F-1208. Believe that this normal and doesn't hurt anything but need to confirm before proceeding. Email sent to Van's. Also looked at right side skin where the edge tool creased the skin while trying to break edges (see entry on 11-7-10). Not really noticeable unless specifcally looking for it along the rivet line. Going to press on as is.
Update (11-23-10): Heard back from Van's on the oil canning on the side skins. Here's what Joe had to say: "Is the Empennage/Tailcone riveted to the Fuselage yet? Some, if not all of the oil canning is resolved when that occurs as additional stresses are put on the skins. Typically all metal airplane will Oil Can a little though. I wouldn't worry about it too much though."
So, I'm not going to worry about it too much and press on.
