- We aligned section #3 to the formers and found some "interesting" differences between the Fold-a-plane (FAP) method NOT using the Strongback & those just forming to the three upright formers that are called for in the FAP directions. #1) Using the FAP Method, WITHOUT mounting it on th Strongback former, a builder would NEVER be able to form the same concave form in the last 30% of the empenage that those using the "Stitch & Glue/Glass" method called for with the Strongback. #2) Building the bottom of the fuselage, as we did (in 3 sections, using FAP guidance - but mounting on the Strongback former), you're not able to make that same concave shape - as is see on the "Stitch/Strongback" method.
