Brief Description:  Flight 96 - from Copperstate

0.5 flight time, 1 ldg. Spoke to quite a few people who are either building Sonex or are in the process of ordering/buying plans, and about the same number who are just interested. Again, it was the only Sonex there, but Jim Arbore brought up his Xenos. The Xenos sure seemed to get a lot of attention. There was another motorglider there (so long span that they folded 1 wing of it). I went to the RV-12 presentation - which took exactly the FULL hour. He had a LOT of well thought-out slides to explain why they did what they did. I still think the removable wing is extra cost & weight for something most people will use once - to take it to the airport, but otherwise, a good presentation. I'm also not clear on the "conforming" LSA business, because he spoke of improvements that were made - I guess maybe they have multiple revision levels or something - definitely more involved than making running improvements to E-AB kits. Anyway, that was a lot of fun to talk to other Sonex fans. I let a few people sit in it - one who is definitely getting started, and another I wasn't quite clear, but he seemed pretty close to getting started. Saw E. Scheppers' new plane (Glasair) - interior looks great. Paint isn't done on the outside yet, but it looks really smooth.
