Brief Description: Flight 62
|
|
0.5 flight time. 5x around pattern. Radio not good (squeal on transmit), but used it anyway. Glad I did, as the pattern was busy. I slotted in ahead of the German-sounding guy in the Archer (who didn't know what runway was in use, and when he chose the wrong one, he was making a left pattern even though it's right) who landed, turned off, taxied back and waited for a break. (I think I've seen him do that before.) A Husky slotted in front of me on downwind. Nice, a slow-flight challenge. His angle of climb was impressive, but his ground speed was puny. A Baron landed behind me and while me and the Husky tracked around, another homebuilt landed, a Cessna, Piper, Mooney, another Beechcraft, and the (homebuilt) Lightning (from the hangar the next row over) took off (not all in the same time around the pattern). Pretty amazing I got in 5 patterns in 0.5, but everyone did a good job of moving along. A tower would have taken longer for sure.
