Had removed the GPS for a trip in another plane. Forgot to bring the mounting bracket, so no airspeed cal data today. Went up to 5500' and did some rectangular course work. Checked the ball was centered at higher speeds, and worked on holding altitude in turns. Burned 2 gallons in 0.6 flight time. On return, pushed the nose over to 170 mph to get back and into the pattern. The whole downwind was a continuous decel to about 90 mph before adding in the flaps.
Yes, there's really a blanked hole where the GPS goes.
