Clamped the firewall square tube upper bracket to the upper forward cross beam. Unclecoed the firewall and pulled it out. Drilled the upper bracket to the cross beam. Marked the location of the cross beam on the inside of the bottom skin in the center - the bottom skin square tube sits 5/32" aft of there. Unclecoed the bottom skin, measured the 5/32 set back. Drew a centerline on the square tube. Used a spring clamp to clamp its forward end into postion under the bottom skin with the bottom skin sitting on the floor. Drilled the forward hole and put a cleco in it. Then swung the square tube around so the rest of the holes were centered on the bottom skin holes and drilled these. Final sized these holes. Put the bottom skin back in place with the square tube. Put the firewall square tube on its upper bracket, then put the firewall back in place. Now it's ready for the bracket that joins the two square tubes. Clamped that in place, will drill it later. Watched the Collins(sp?) Foundation B-24 and B-17 do their tours over my house. They did at least 2 tours each this afternoon, and I saw the B-17 pass over yesterday.
