Connected the mixture cable to the carb. Re-secured the cable at 2 intermediate points. Changed the oil filter (doing an oil change within all this). Attached the fuel tank vent to the tank. Put 2 gallons back into the tank - checked sight tube still calibrated. Put in the GPS power cable. Hung the GPS on its RAM mount. Pulled out the seat, started to check for the short in the radio wiring. Un-taped some of the PTT connections, pulled the center radio panel out, didn't see anything. Removed and reinstalled the 2 mic jacks, in case one of these was grounding out. No good. Next step - pull the connector off the radio and check continuity between the pins (figure out which PTT is shorted). If neither, then maybe it's the radio. Need to trim the extended exhaust pipe, rivet into place, refill the gas and oil.
