Made the fairings dead soft by heating with torch. A sharpie marker line squiggled on the aluminum really does just disappear when the metal gets hot enough to be soft. Formed up the tail fairings. There's not as much bending here as I guessed - it's quite a bit less than 90 degrees. Rolled it over a bottle and 1" dowel, and just by hand to get the curve. Used the hand seamer along the edge to get the flanges - and they do vary along the length like the plans show. One side is straight, the other flange is curved, so dead soft metal is good for this.
