Took about 1 hour to mark elevator skins for drilling. Spent about 2 hours drilling the elevator drive weldment to the root ribs. Drilling steel is slow. Countersinks don't like to cut. Finally got the 4 rivets countersunk as called for. Access to one of the 3/32 rivets was poor for countersinking. I had to break out an old flexible chuck and put the countersink bit into the stub extension for threaded drill bits. Then wobble the countersink as it drilled so it would cut. It wouldn't cut straight down in the steel like when it is in the microstop cage. But it's good enough to hold the nutplate and let the trim tab cable clamp sit flat. Spent about 1 hour drilling the right elevator to its ribs and hinge. Spent about 45 minutes drilling the left elevator to its ribs and hinge. Last 15 minutes started marking one of the aileron skins for drilling (rivet hole pattern).
