Brief Description: Tank removal and decronstruction (Part 2)
Foty five minutes to take off the second tank--I found my 3/8 wench. It then took just over two hours to drill out all the rivets.
In total: The time it took to desonstuct each tank averages about four hours a piece. 45 minutes to remove the tank from the wing. Give or take two hours to drill out the rivets; using two drll bits (#3 and #4) with drill stops attached for speed and protecting the skin. And, about an hour to heat up (using a 1500 watt heat gun fom Habor Frieght $13) the proseal enough to pull the pieces apart. I tried using a plastic statula but it melted fast so I ended up CAREFULY using a sharpened putty knife with rounded corners (filed) to separate the parts. Side note: The smell of hot proseal is fowl and the odor sticks to your skin and whatever you are waring.
