Brief Description:  Trimming and... uh oh #1

Spent the evening trimming up the floor - something that I apparently should have done BEFORE glassing, but I guess I missed that when reading the plans. No worries though, the multi-tool does an excellent job.

The pics show how I held the foam in place on the firwalls during the cure, and also how I held the longerons. Don't forget the vasiline on the screws! No, that's not the uh oh (I actually knew better).

So, I was cutting big chucks off the side foam pcs to make it more manageable in preparation for the fuselage side I'm going to make (or was going to make) over the next couple of sessions... The front firewall looked funny. After measuring and straight edging, etc... I found out the left bottom corner is pushed back about 1/4" and the left top is fwd about 1/8". The right side is fine. How I screwed it up, I'm not sure, but I can't stand it. Would it hurt anything - no, but I know it's there. So, next session I'll be using the multi-tool to cut the glue joint off the left side of the fwd FW and will be fixing it to be straight. Grrr...

Naturally I went and checked the rest of the bulkheads, and they are fine except the LG supports (FS 144.5 and FS 153) are out of square by 0.3" over the width!!! WTH???? They are rigged/jigged up pretty solid, so the only thing I can figure is I messed up the jig and missed checking it twice. Ah well. I'm still debating on whether or not to cut that one out and fix it. We'll see how the FW goes and decide from there, but being persnickity as I am, I'll probably be cutting that one out too. Double GRRR.

UPDATE - So it turns out, after measuring everything... That the landing gear bulkheads are only 0.1 askew. I'll live with that. The aft firewall however is 0.2 askew the opposite direction - this is about .3 deg, so not a big deal - other than the main spar follows it! The measurements I took show, however, that the spar tips are the same distance from the fwd firewall centerline - or close enough with a tape measure (±0.030"), I'll remeasure w
