Brief Description: Nose gear doors and mounts part 3
Preparations made for the flox corner. All foam slurried. Thick micro fillets on the door (remember, 1/4" min here!) I also installed (not show) 4" long 2 ply doublers centered at 6" and 19" from the firewall on both the doors and the mounts. This will allow me to install click bond studs for mounting the offset door hinges (not in the plans). I was going to use the plans piano hinges, but figured out that the foam inside the mount needed to be straight - not slightly curved as I had done it. Rather than redo it, I'll use offset hinges. I like how they work anyway.
Two plies BID on a 45 were used for the doublers, top door skin and mount skins. We'll see how it looks next session!
